Trauma Informed Psychotherapy

THE PAST AS A PATHWAY TO HEALING

  • Trauma-informed therapy is an approach that recognizes the pervasive impact trauma can have on an our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It shifts the focus from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you and how did you adapt as a result?” From there trauma-informed therapy helps us understand relate to ourselves flexible and resilient so that we can continue to heal and change.

  • Through a compassionate and collaborative approach, trauma-informed therapy helps clients process traumatic experiences, regulate their emotions, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust. By addressing the root causes of trauma, as well as the transgenerational impact of it within family systems, we gain awareness, compassion, and transform.
