PATHWAYS TO LASTING RECOVERY
-
Our collaborative approach begins by stabilizing behaviors that fuel addiction, providing a foundation for deeper exploration. We examine the roots of addiction, identifying emotional conflicts and traumas that perpetuate patterns. Internal Family Systems (IFS) can also be used to engage with parts of the self that are caught in addictive cycles. This dual approach offers self-understanding and promotes practical changes.

Somatic experiences work can be incorporated to reconnect clients with their bodies, often neglected during periods of addiction. This approach aids in recognizing and regulating behaviors associated with cravings and anxiety, enhancing mindfulness and presence.

“The difference between passion and addiction is that between a divine spark and a flame that incinerates.” — Gabor Maté
Creativity is crucial in recovery. Expressive arts therapy provides new avenues for expressing feelings and thoughts that may have been previously channeled into addictive behaviors. This not only aids in emotional regulation but also in discovering new aspects of one's self and potential.

The focus extends beyond overcoming addiction to building a resilient self capable of sustaining long-term changes. This includes developing healthy coping strategies, improving interpersonal relationships, and establishing a supportive community that values and encourages one’s ongoing journey of recovery.
